Privacy Policy

MOTE is built on the principle that your data belongs to you. We collect the minimum needed to run the service and nothing more.

What we collect

We collect only what you provide during registration and dashboard setup:

• Your name and email address
• Your business name, category, description, and website
• Business details you choose to add: location, phone, hours, tags, keywords, products, pricing, offers, booking URL
• Payment information is processed by Stripe — MOTE never sees or stores your card details

We do not use analytics tools, tracking pixels, or any third-party data collection. We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, or any equivalent service on mote.network.

How we use your data

Your data is used for one purpose: to generate your machine-readable business listing and submit it to AI agent registries. Specifically:

• Your business details are used to generate your llms.txt, JSON manifest, and DID document
• Your email is used to send your registration confirmation and magic link login emails
• Your name is used to identify your account

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to operate the service (Stripe for payment processing, Resend for transactional email).

Your data on the blockchain

When you register, MOTE creates a Decentralised Identifier (DID) anchored on the Sui blockchain. This is a permanent, public record. The DID itself contains no personal information — it is a cryptographic identifier tied to a public key. Your business name and profile details are stored in MOTE's database, not on the blockchain.

Because blockchain records are immutable by design, your DID cannot be deleted once created. Your business profile data held by MOTE can be deleted on request (see Your Rights below).

Your machine-readable listing

Your business listing — including your llms.txt, JSON manifest, and agent profile — is publicly accessible at permanent URLs on mote.network. This is the core service you registered for. This data is intentionally public and machine-readable so AI agents can find your business.

Your rights (including GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under GDPR:

• Right of access: you can request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Right to rectification: you can update your data at any time via your dashboard
• Right to erasure: you can request deletion of your account and business profile data. Note that your DID on the Sui blockchain is permanent and cannot be deleted — this is a property of the blockchain, not a choice by MOTE
• Right to data portability: your listing files are available for download from your dashboard at any time
• Right to object: you can contact us to object to any processing of your data

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account exists. If you request account deletion, we will remove your business profile and personal data within 30 days. Your DID on the Sui blockchain will remain as it is immutable.

Security

Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. Passwords are not stored — MOTE uses magic link email authentication only. Your merchant private key is encrypted using AES-256-GCM before storage.
